Fantasy Wildcat is a well bred mare by Forest Wildcat. She was bred in KY by Stonestreet and purchased for $45,000 as a yearling. Her first Dam, Wood Pattern, was unraced. Her second Dam, Pattern Step, was a G1 winner winning the Hollywood Oaks. Her third Dam, Tipping Time, was a Stakes winner also winning the Hollywood Oaks (note: only mother/daughter ever to win the Hollywood Oaks). Fantasy Wildcat has a very high nicking rating with many of the top stallions, matching with over 40 KY stallions at the level of A+++ (Werk Nick)

From the Werk website (werkhorse.com): What does the Werk Nick A+++ (“Triple Plus”) mean?

“The A+++ or “Triple Plus” is not just another nick rating. Nick ratings ranging from F to A++ are determined by the frequency of Stake Winners (SWs) within a cross as measured by a defined “variant,” just like an academic letter grade. Each grade covers a certain interval on the scale. The “Triple Plus” is designed in such a way as to represent only the most elite crosses.

The Triple Plus is partially determined by the variant for the cross, in the sense that only A, A+, or A++ ratings can qualify for the “Triple Plus” rating. In order to qualify, however, a cross must meet certain qualitative criteria beyond a certain frequency of SWs.

While WTC (Werk Thoroughbred Consultants) bases all its nick ratings on unrestricted North American stakes and “blacktype-qualifying foreign” stakes, a Triple Plus cross must be represented by a minimum number of stakes winners, by a minimum proportion of G1 and G2 stakes winners, and by a least one G1 stakes winner. This means that crosses rated “Triple Plus” are more likely than other nick ratings to yield runners of the highest class.”

Fantasy Wildcat’s first star is a very healthy, solid, and correct bay colt (by Discreetly Mine) foaled on January 29, 2013. The co-owners of this syndicate are looking forward to being part of his life and the arrival of Fantasy Wildcat’s future stars.

If interested in becoming an co-owner of this horse, please contact HSS and we will be glad to send you a copy of the contract and answer any questions you may have.
