Breeding

Where stars of tomorrow are born today.

Halcyon Springs Stable (HSS) offers co-ownership opportunities in breeding thoroughbreds for racing through HSS breeding syndicates. The HSS breeding program focuses on the Pennsylvania Breeding Fund and Program as the breeder incentives/awards for PA-breds are second to none. Each breeding syndicate consists of a broodmare and progeny foaled by HSS from the broodmare.

HSS foals will be born and raised in Pennsylvania. As a yearling the foal will reside on a Delaware farm for 90 days to become Delaware certified. Being Delaware certified increases the foals’ value and makes them eligible for higher purses if/when racing in DE. After becoming DE certified HSS foals will go to South Carolina for initial training.

The intent of the HSS breeding program is to produce foals that will race in a HSS racing syndicate. However, if it is determined an individual foal is a candidate for the sales, it may be sold through a sales auction as a weanling, yearling, or 2 year old.

Co-owners with the breeding syndicate will continue to receive any breeder’s awards for the racing life of the foals produced from that HSS breeding syndicate. If the co-owner would also like to be part of the HSS racing syndicate as an owner with associated owner awards, he/she may elect to join the HSS racing syndicate for that foal.
